Friends Forever!

Okay, so I don't have a scanner, so this is the best I can do with the old pictures I have.

My wedding Dec. 27, 1995

My Baptism Sept. 27, 1994

Anyways, I have been thinking a lot about my best friend Courtney lately. The reason being is Taylor is actually at the age when I met her. That was 21 years ago. Wow! I feel old. We met on our year round swim team. (Mesa Aquatics) I actually remember it quite vividly. We both were at the snack bar getting licorice waiting to swim an event...well and the rest is history. We hit it off right away and have been friends ever since. Courtney was always a much better swimmer than I especially in backstroke and freestyle. She was always taller than me as well. The funny thing is, it is almost the same as Mackenzi and Taylor. Taylor is so much shorter than Mackenzi and she is also an awesome swimmer. Not that Taylor isn't or anything....just a funny coincidence. I love the above picture taken of us when we were about 9. We thought we were so cool dressing up in my grandma's clothes. Don't you love the hair clips? Ahhh those 80's.

Courtney and I have been though almost everything together, swimming, school, heartbreaks, and she is the one who introduced me into our church and I actually set her up with the guy she is now maried to. She tried for several years to get me to join the church, but do to family and other things I never did do it. Once we were out of highschool I began to go to the seminary dances, and went to the singles ward with some friends. Many people I hung around really didn't realize I wasn't Mormon they always just assumed I was--maybe it was that stereotypical blonde hair thing who knows. Afterall, I never drank, smoked or did anything of the sort. I always did pretty well in school and was on the pomline. So pretty straight and narrow. However, I was pretty adament about not meeting with the elders because I thought it would have been weird with them being the same age as me and all. Well, Courtney had said in passing to me one day that they just got some really cool sister missionaries in her ward and asked if I would like to meet them. I said sure, and that ended up being my first discussion and the rest is history. It was such an awesome experience. All of my discussions were at her parents house and my mom actually sat through all of them with me, but never did join. (mom you need to jump on the bandwagon--hint hint) Little did I know my future husband whom I never had met at the time was in her home ward growing up. So we all knew the same people just never each other! Such a small world.

Courtney is such an inspiring amazing woman. I have always looked up to her and her standards. Her husband graduated from D.O. School in Chicago and is currently doing his pediatric residency in Arizona. She is pregnant with her 4th baby. (I am crossing my fingers for you Court maybe you'll get your girl). She had three adorable little boys and works as a neo/natal nurse. I don't know how she juggles working those long hours and is still an awesome mom and wife! I miss her and can't wait for us to move closer so that we can hang out more. Just so you know Court I think of you often and miss you tons!!
